Meet my imaginary character "Rose", a fragile old lady, now in her 90's. She served as a nurse in the 40's during world war and was always at the front in helping the sick and wounded all her life. For Rose serving came first, living her own life came later. It has been a long time she retired, but her eyes still twinkle, and the old face starts glowing when she looks at her old photos which opens the flood gate of her memories.
When the Covid-19 pandemic stressed the entire healthcare system, Rose remembered her time while looking at her old photos. Her emotions and determination channeled her inner nurse to do something. While her frail body and aging eyes don't allow her to go out and do something about it, her strong will is determined, she started making face masks for healthcare workers. She may be old but her will and intent is not.
With this creation, I wanted to give a shout out to Rose and all such incredible people who are the real heroes of our current times!!!
This work was created for Cake International Summer on Screen Competition 2020 and won 3rd Place (Highly Commended) @ Judges Wild Card category “Hero Of Our Current Times”.
This is one of my favorite work till date and I really enjoyed making all the miniatures with the smallest detail. Nurse Rose took a lot from me but I loved the way she turned out!!!
