Ray Charles bust cake was created for Sculpted cake category in the Ultimate Sugar Show 2019 @ Atlanta, GA and won the "Best of Show".
My inspiration for this bust cake was Ray Charles, because of his will to overcome blindness at the age of 7 and pursue his passion for music to become a musical genius and inspire millions.
This cake was special considering the hours and days of learning about Ray Charles and studying every detail on his facial expression (the scare on forehead, his glasses, his one tooth different from the set, etc.) and ensuring I could show all of that on the cake.
I was happy with the outcome and the "Best of Show Award" made it all worth the effort.
